Writing

Imagining stories and characters has always been a part of my life.

Some of these have made it out of my head and onto paper, others out of the desk drawer and into internet magazines or other publications.

In 2016, I received a literary award from the City of Hamburg for my short story project "Hundert Aspekte des Mondes" (One Hundred Aspects of the Moon), which was inspired by the woodcut series of the same name by the 19th century Japanese artist Taiso Yoshitoshi. I have "translated" the images into stories that take place at a different time and in a different country – but under the same moon.
