Translating
Translation builds bridges.
It paves the way for successful corporate communication across language and country boundaries. It helps companies to tap into new markets by creating a seamless connection with customers all around the world.
The bridge, however, needs to rest on strong pillars. The first pillar of a good translation is a nuanced understanding of the source text. Having lived in Great Britain for several years, I have developed a sensitivity for the different layers of meaning in a text. The other, perhaps even more important, pillar is being able to express this meaning concisely and fluently in the target language.
I have been translating texts from English into German for over 20 years – from magazine articles to advertising, press releases, instruction manuals, and fortune cookie messages. My translations reflect the quality of the source text, including its stylistic features. My goal is that they don't read like translations, but like texts originally written in the target language.
