Biography

Born 1967 in Wesseling (near Cologne), Germany

Studied English Literature, Comparative Literature, and Philosophy in Bonn, Bochum, and Glasgow; graduated 1993 with an M.A. from the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany

2001-2003 Studied part-time towards an M.A. in Literary Translation at the University of East Anglia in Norwich; graduated 2003 (with distinction)

2004 Completed the Intensive Course in Subtitling for Translators at the City University in London

Moved back to Germany in 2006 after several years in Great Britain, living and working as a freelance translator and writer near Lübeck

2009 Completed a one-year screenwriting programme at the Filmschule Hamburg Berlin

2016 Received a literary award from the City of Hamburg
